La Palapa in Austin

Was there on Sunday. My food came to me cold. Didn't say anything to the waitress. But it was disappointing. So I don't think I will ever go back.

The food is delicious and the drinks aren't bad either. The service is fast and the atmosphere is nice. You can sit at the bar and feast on appetizers or sit at a table.

The food was great and drinks were off the chain.

Not the best experience but I would be willing to give them another shot. We had a team lunch so there were eight of us. There was another table with a larger party. I only saw one server so not sure what was going on. Food looked great but the temperature and flavor were lacking. I'm hoping that this was just a random bad day (we all have them) so I don't want to rule them completely out.

The waitress was good, but the Manager was horrible, mistakes were made she did nothing to try help customer, worse manager non customer friendly I have ever seen. Never going back.

Me and my boyfriend have been here before and we enjoyed. Great happy hour specials plus the food is delicious. However during this last visit our experience was not great. We did get greeted immediately at the door. However during the whole time our server only checked on us twice. Once as we ordered our food and second when we were ready for our check. We didn’t get refills throughout our visit or got asked how the food was. During our visit the restaurant was not busy.

So thankful that i found such a wonderful restaurant close to my hotel. Great waiter (I didn't get your name but seriously you're awesome) and the food was delicious. Will be back again next time I'm in Austin.

The food is always delicious and plentiful. The restaurant is very clean and feels good. We have enjoyed their service for 15 years. Yummmmy!

Staff was fast and friendly food was good salsa was hot and with alot of flavor

La Palapa has a small town feel. The people we’ve met there are regulars. The bar/karaoke area is great. The restaurant area has always been almost every time I’ve been there. Happy hour is everyday from 4-7 and their margaritas are HUGE! Their stuffed jalapeños are great.

It was a fair food experience. Service was great.

They have karaoke nights, great chips and salsa and family-friendly environment

The restaurant looks like it could use a little love as far as decor and the building go. The food was good and the service was fine. The sopapilla were delicious and I def recommend getting them as desert. Overall nothing fancy but it will fill your belly and that's half the battle.

Fair service, food was okay just not genuine enough(some short cuts in taste). A bit overpriced on some items for their mexican dishes. More americanized southwest texmex with mild salsa.

Great nachos. And amazing soapapias. Don't be confused finding it. It's super colorful in the outside, but you can get confused as the Mexican place across the street is also super colorful now. It's like they got into a color was so when someone tells you to meet at the colorful Mexican place by Regan high school, you may find yourself in a where do I go Mexican restaurant endless loop of Doom. It's gonna drive you...loco....

Tilapia A Diablo was fantastic ! Tortilla soup very good. Drink menu looked interesting.

Big servings, wide menu selection, very decent and affordable staff. The chips and salsa you can tell that they are made in house fresh. Definitely coming back

Every time I come here I enjoy myself. I hadn't been in a few years but when I stepped in this place tonight it was like old times sake. I had so much fun. Drinks were AMAZING. My cousin celebrated his birthday there and we didn't need to go anywhere else afterwards. Looking forward to my next visit really really soon. Cool staff!

All I can say is, money well spent. The drinks were dangerously delicious. Flavors on my plate had my taste buds wide awake. Fresh Jalapenos! Nuff Said.

I've been going here for decades and am never disappointed. Good food, nice portions and very fair prices. You should go.

The food was good had the hatch chili enchiladas..chips with queso..Had watermelon margarita and another top shelf margarita...the garnish pineapple was hard as a rock...drink was good though..able to watch cowboys play ...other than cockroach going across the bar while I eat...(hey I've eaten in Vietnam and Bali and witnessed far worse)...Bartenders are cute place was busy..probably wont return but someone else might like it 😎

The food was delicious! I had the beef enchiladas with beans and rice and some queso dip. The iced tea is very good and comes in a very large glass. The chip sauce is very spicy. The restaurant is at 290 and Cameron behind 7/11. It's very easy to get to. The ambiance in the restaurant is very pleasant. There's plenty of parking and seating. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll be eating there again very soon.

La Palapa serves delicious Mexican food but they also serve a GREAT BURGER! If you love puddles of melted cheddar and quality beef, and a toasted bun, this is your burger. It's huge enough for two people or two meals but you may not be able to stop at half a burger.

Food was delicious! The service was a little slow but that's okay because we were not in a rush. They had a pretty decent kids menu and a small arcade that my son really enjoyed.

Initially we received pretty good customer service, but after informing the waitress that there was hair in both my food and my husband's food things went downhill. The waitress had an attitude, and I told my husband that I just wanted to pay and leave. My husband tried explaining the issue to a manager and another employee, meanwhile the waitress had already swiped my husband's card so we ended up paying for food that we couldn't enjoy because there was hair in it. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed by the food and service (or lack thereof) we received. We won't be returning and plan to tell our family and friends to beware of this establishment.

The Cheesy Palapa Burger was awesome. However, the wait staff was horrible. Not once did they return to our table after the food was brought.

This was by far the best establishment I have eaten at in many years. Upon entering the door, the first thing I noticed that set La Palapa Restaurant apart from the many restaurants of today's time was the fact that it was void of televisions to distract customers from the people they intended to enjoy a meal out with. The drinks were spot on, and the food was most excellent. Perfect place for family or dates.

Tasty food and a variety of choices. Can get loud with the larger crowds. Happy hour till 7pm

Chips are awesome(5🌟s), Food was tasty but was warm-on the verge of cool. Waiters response to drinks (4🌟s). We had a party of 30. I dont think they have the right plan in place to take menu orders (This was the 2🌟s) for big parties. People who came late got their food first only because they were on overflow table of 4 people per table. I would have to come back with a party of 2-4 to truly rate them. Ambiance is great(5🌟s). My advice, dont connect the tables for big parties.

This place is a wonderful choice. The portion sizes are just as good as the food. The service is extremely fast, and the margaritas plentiful. Not to be overshadowed, the cantina in the back of the restaurant is cozy and very fun on karaoke nights. If you are really hungry, then this is the restaurant for you.

I just love this place. The food is good, the atmosphere is good. It always smells clean ( I think it's the chlorine fountain but still). Good deals on a la carte items too.

I had the fish taco dinner. It was bland until I asked for salsa. The service was good and the atmosphere was welcoming. Would like to revisit and try other menu items.

Had a very good time. Service was great. Food was great Karaoke was so fun to watch.

I live way with now but it always. A.place with friends. My husband had the Tilapia for lunch portion and it was a huge plate. I would recommend this place

I dropped by for lunch. It was a bad weather day so there were not very many people. The service was fine. The waitress took my order and kept checking on me just the correct amount. I ordered the chicken fajita plate. The food was ok.

Fajita beef amazingly tender and flavored beautifully. Rice was top notch. A bit higher priced but well worth it.

Oh I love their tacos. Excellent customer service and a cozy place. They have great option for drinks and cocktails. Michelada is great. I would definitely go back and eat there again. Their staff are friendly and very accommodating. Overall, a great experience and I had an awesome lunch.

Great food , good drinks, nice laid back place to spend some time over a nice meal. Daily specials are worth coming in for. Check it out!
